Short description (50 words)
Buck City is an isometric city builder with a real simulation and named citizens. Zone land, balance taxes and bonds, follow residents through their day and read the city's own newspaper. Free in the browser; free to try on iPhone, iPad and Mac, with one $5.99 unlock. No ads, no subscription.
Long description
Buck City is a single-player city builder in the classic tradition: zone residential, commercial and industrial land, keep the power on, and balance the budget while demand fills the city in. Underneath is a full simulation of demand, land value, taxes, municipal bonds, five governance models, ordinances and City Charter choices, and the game explains itself: the demand meter answers "Why homes?" and any tile shows why its land value is what it is.
The city is made of people. About one resident in ten has a name, a home, a job, a daily routine and a story, and you can follow any of them, or take the wheel of their car. They complain about their own block, and the complaint points at the tile behind it. Every city also prints its own newspaper, the Gazette, written from what is really happening.
Players build in eight architectural culture packs, grow up to nine connected cities in a region, and play Today's City, a new shared map every day. The web version is the full game for free. On iPhone, iPad and Mac it is free to try, with one purchase that works on all three. There are no ads, no accounts and no subscriptions, and the apps play offline.
